What is the purpose of the study?

We have developed a social robot to autonomously guide patients through long-term upper limb recovery. This robot attempts to instruct patients on what exercises to do while engaging in verbal conversation. Our long-term goal is to evaluate our robot with real patients, but the first step is to evaluate this with practicioners to 1) get useful feedback on the interaction design of our early prototype, and 2) gather a dataset of interactive behaviours between the robot and therapist from the perspective of a patient for subsequent simulations the robot’s decision-making component.

Criteria for participation:

1) Be either a trained physiotherapist or occupational therapist, or a physiotherapist or occupational therapist student. 2) Have a minimum of 2 year’s experience working with recovering patients. 3) Currently work with patients recovering from upper-limb injury or have done so in the past 3 years.
